Arrive 9.40 -4.00pm,  Held at the incredible site of 42 Acres and the home of Land, Food and Medicine. Join Tasha  for the deeply  immersive workshop into natures medicinal bounty for the Dark Winter Months covering berries, tree resin, pine needles, medicinal mushrooms and more. 

​Spend the morning foraging and learning to safely identify wild ingredients, that you will then use in your medicine making. 

Included is  a delicious soil to gut lunch and spend the afternoon making a bounty of winter tonics, Norway spruce  (home-made chest and anti-bacterial rub), Medicinal Mushroom Chai Syrup, Elderberry Honey Tonic and Rosehip and Cinnamon Syrup.

Winter Medicine Cabinet: Medicinal Mushrooms

 

​

Arrive 9.40- 4.00pm, Learn how to safely identify & sustainably grow, harvest 7 preserve medicinal mushrooms & extract their medicine.

 

​Join Tasha, head of Land, Food and Medicine to Create your own wild mushroom "medicine cabinet" and inoculate your own log to take home. 

​During this full day workshop you'll discover native, wild medicinal mushrooms growing at 42 Acres and within the South West Area. 

​

Head out on a foraging walk, illuminating the incredible world of medicinal fungi and understand the key features needed to identify them. 

In the afternoon you will learn how to safely preserve your mushrooms and extract their medicine for use all year round, in yours and your loved ones lives, for a host of illness and preventative uses. For full details or to book or to explore an extended Wintering well Retreat

Start Your Own Mushroom Farm:

This popular Hands-on Course will teach you everything you need to know on how to set up a small to medium-scale outdoor mushroom farm. Learn how to cultivate strains including Turkey Tail, Artists Conk, Lions Mane, and Birch Polypore. Oyster, Beef Steak Fungi, and Shiitake.

​

Get practical inoculating logs while setting up a live mushroom farm. Learn the skill of medicine making and take home your medicine. Spend time looking, tasting, touching, and smelling in a session on identification and processing.  Come home with a fully comprehensive course booklet to keep referring to for years to come.

Wild Nutrition, Coast

​An immersive  1 1/2 day wild experience on the Island of Portland. This unique course is taught within and along the coastal line of the sea. Combining coasteering, foraging and wild nutrition. â€‹â€‹

​

Daniel, a qualified expert in Coasteering  will guide us as we navigate the rocks, the water and the edges where so much interesting seaweed and sea life is available to witness and taste. Tasha his co-teacher holds 15 years experience of wild food, wild tending and working with these amazing indigenous ingredients in professional kitchens. Tasha will guide connecting to the amazing power of the sea and how to use the harvest alongside Daniel.​

​

Day 2: Spend the morning doing a walking coastal forage and spend the rest of the morning back at base, understanding the full extent of the ingredients you have found, learning to process them, creating some wild delights finishing in a warming Healing Broth made with incredible Miso, with you own foraged ingredients, ginger, mushrooms from our farm and other wild and fermented delights to illuminate the preciousness and nutrient density of these incredible ingredients.
